Environmentally friendly corporate policy

Sustainability and active environmental protection as well as resource-saving production represent essential features of our corporate policy.


Zahn Pinselmanufaktur is the first and only brush factory in the world to be certified according to EN ISO 14001:2004, EMAS and FSC® criteria and is a long-standing partner in the Bavarian Environmental Pact.

  • We strive for production processes that can be optimized in terms of energy and raw materials. Emissions are reduced as far as possible and resources are conserved.
  • For our products, we rely on the use of controlled woods such as FSC ®.
  • All varnishes and printing inks used are saliva-proof. Our varnishes and inks comply with EN71 - part 3 (safety of toys).
  • We strive to reduce the number of paper documents in the office to a minimum - the goal is a paperless office.
  • We have installed an in-house photovoltaic system on our new company building. The electricity generated is used directly for our brush production. As a result, we have already avoided 10.5 tons of CO2 in the 2nd half of 2019.
  • We offer our employees an attractive offer via BusinessBike leasing to switch from car to bike.
  • Around our company building, we have created a flowering meadow on an area of 4,500 m². You can find out more about this under Bluehpakt Bayern.
  • Our electric vehicles are charged with green electricity from our own photovoltaic system.
